  5. FileTrax© is the easiest, most powerful file tracking database available.  No more adding file information manually - all you have to do is click the "Add" button and FileTrax does the rest.  FileTrax automatically extracts all of the information you would every need!  Store and sort your files with over a dozen pieces of information on each file.  FileTrax is made for the user who wants to manage all of their files - whether you want to keep track of files you've downloaded, files you have on the hard drive, or even files stored on disk.  FileTrax allows you to view and/or print records and listings of files by various groupings with no effort.  And new in FileTrax is a file launcher!  You can launch any of the files you have "tracked" just by clicking the "Launch" button.  With it's combination of seamless architecture, masterful graphic navigation, and ergonomic design, FileTrax is a step ahead of it's competition.

  8. •File information: Track you files by name, file type, subtype, size, version, author, creation date, modification date, where it was acquired from, type of software, if it's paid for, and a rating.
  9. •Searching: Powerful search ability. Instantly jump to a known file or just hit one of the index letters A through Z.
  10. •List: List all files or list by numerous subtypes.
  11. •Printing: Print single records of files or lists of any files you want.
  12. •Launching:  Click the "Launch" button to launch any file you have "tracked."

  16. •Applescript 1.x  is highly recommended.  It's necessary for "Auto-Add" and access to the printing features.  The printing limitation is only temporary, however.

  19. •••FileTrax 1.0ß is a beta version. This is the first release of the MAJOR update to 0.9 ß.  So comments, criticisms, suggestion, ANYTHING is welcome input.  There is a questionnaire form to help you rate the features of FileTrax and to tell me your ideas of what what works, what doesn't, and what would make FileTrax more productive for you.  I promise that I will try and implement all of your good ideas into the next version of FileTrax, so don't think think that your opinions don't count!  Even if you're not planning to use FileTrax, please fill out a questionnaire and tell me why not.  Depending on how much response and new ideas I get(and I hope a lot!) the next version of FileTrax should be finished very shortly.  I've spent a LOT of time on this, but don't think this is a finished product.  On the contrary- I have just begun.  So keep those comments and ideas coming!  If you are impressed and can’t wait until the next version comes out you can pay the shareware fee now and you’ll be sent FileTrax 1.00 when it is complete.  The shareware situation is as follows:

  21. $10-   You’ll receive all new versions of FileTrax via e-mail. And you’ll also receive the password to allow you to edit FileTrax.
  22. $15- You’ll receive the latest version on disk via U.S. Mail and all other new versions in the future via e-mail(if you have an address). You’ll also receive the password to allow you to edit FileTrax.
